Blue Line’s 2020 awards nominations close FRIDAY

January 13, 2020  By Staff

Calling all standout new recruits and leaders in law enforcement!

Blue Line’s annual Lifetime in Law Enforcement Achievement Award is on the hunt for nominations — and we’ve launched a new award to accompany it.

For years Blue Line ran an annual Police Leadership Award. This year, we’re changing things up! We’re making it more specific thanks to your feedback! And so, we present you with our brand-new Rookie of the Year Award!

This award still recognizes and encourages a standard of excellence that exemplifies “Leadership as an Activity not a Position,” and pride in service to the public. Its goal is to highlight promising new officers who are effectively paving the way for the policing of today and tomorrow, and making positive waves among their peers, agencies, communities and beyond.

The Rookie of the Year Award is open to active Canadian police officers who have been serving for 3 years or less and are below the rank of senior officer. They must have demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment to service through deeds, resulting in a measurable benefit to their peers, their service and the community.

Get these officers recognized!

The winner will be featured as the April 2020 cover story and honoured at Blue Line Expo.

Likewise, the Lifetime in Law Enforcement Achievement Award seeks to recognize a leader in law enforcement who has made a difference.

It is open to all Canadian law enforcement officers who are below the rank of senior official, but it specifically targets those working for organizations that are not traditional police agencies (such as Canada Border Services Agency, Correctional Service of Canada, commercial vehicle enforcement, etc.) and who have over 15 years of experience.

The deadline is THIS FRIDAY, Jan. 17, 2020, so make sure to download the nomination forms HERE and get yours in today!
