Police say the officer had just finished cleaning his gun at his home in May, 2017, when it discharged.

The bullet went through a patio door but no one was hurt.

The officer reported the accident to police.

Investigators could not find the bullet.

Const. Jack Klick was charged Thursday and released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
