Thomas Carrique appointed commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police
York Regional Police Deputy Chief Thomas Carrique has been appointed commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Carrique joined York Regional Police in 1990 and was appointed deputy chief of police in 2011. He most recently oversaw the Investigations and Support Branch and held increasingly senior roles throughout his career, including superintendent-in-charge of staff services. He also led the service’s Organized Crime Bureau and acted as a liaison officer to the Special Investigations Unit.
