The Dakota Ojibway Police Service (DOPS), headquartered in Long Plain First Nation, Man., is officially starting its transition to “Manitoba First Nations Police” today.

The service says all changes of police equipment, material and rebranding will continue over a two-year period.

DOPS provides policing in six First Nation communities and announced it wanted to “have a name that is inclusive of all First Nations in Manitoba.”
