Fallen heroes initiative honours first responders

July 20, 2023  By Blue Line Staff

July 20, 2023, Calgary, Alta. – Norquay Jewellers has announced the launch of their Fallen Heroes Initiative, a heartfelt initiative aimed at honouring the memory of fallen first responders and providing solace to their grieving families.

Norquay Jewellers’ dedication to memorializing lost loved ones has touched the hearts of many over the years. However, a recent encounter with a mother who tragically lost her son, Chad, a brave Canadian soldier in Afghanistan, served as a profound catalyst for this new program. Through a collaborative process, Brian Moreland, owner of Norquay Jewellers, crafted a unique memorial ring that encapsulated Chad’s ashes, symbolizing his ultimate sacrifice in service to the country. Mr. Moreland is offered his services to Chad’s mother free of charge. Recognizing that these families have already paid an unimaginable price, he seeks to express his gratitude by providing them with lasting memorials of their loved ones through his craftsmanship.

The Fallen Heroes Initiative is now an integral part of Mr. Moreland’s company, committed to creating custom memorial jewellery without charge for families of fallen first responders. The aim is to preserve the memory of these courageous individuals and offer a token of deep appreciation for their selflessness and dedication to protecting others.

“We believe that the memory of these fallen heroes deserves to be cherished and preserved,” says Mr. Moreland. “Through our craftsmanship, we hope to offer some comfort and express our heartfelt gratitude to their families.”
