Cops for Cancer and Applewood Auto Group bring hope to children with cancer

July 20, 2023  By Blue Line Staff

July 20, 2023, Langley, B.C. – Cops for Cancer is back, sponsored by Applewood Auto Group. This September, nearly 100 first responders will cycle thousands of kilometers, including 25 from the Fraser Valley, with a goal to raise $2.25 million for childhood cancer research and Camp Goodtimes. Applewood Auto Group, with special guest Cops for Cancer riders, hosted a car wash on July 20, aiming to bring hope to children with cancer – one clean car at a time.

“Applewood Auto Group is committed to being a responsible and involved member of our local communities, we are thrilled to partner with organizations like Canadian Cancer Society and Cops for Cancer and to do our part in helping the kids,” says Christine Wishart, Director of Events & Special Projects at Applewood Auto Group.

“Being out in the community, raising awareness about childhood cancer and fundraising is what Cops for Cancer is all about,” says John Esau, Tour de Valley 2022 rider and paramedic. “I’ve seen how difficult a cancer journey is for families. Not only do the donations bring them hope, but I think that when the community gets together to support, it shows them, they are not alone.”

With just over 50 days to go until Cops for Cancer Tours launch on September 15, Cops for Cancer riders continue to train and connect with their communities to bring hope for kids with cancer.
