VPD sergeant to ride across Canada for cancer awareness

April 12, 2024  By Blue Line Staff

Apr. 12, 2024, Vancouver, B.C. – Last year, Blue Line shared a story about Sgt. Dayne Campbell and his endeavours with the Cops for Cancer program. After completing his 15th and final year of touring with the Cops for Cancer Tour De Coast, his daughter was sadly diagnosed with cancer.

“In late 2023, my daughter Rebecca was diagnosed with cancer. Since that time, she has gone from being a competitive gymnast who trained 5.5 hours a day, to being a regular visitor to B.C. Children’s Hospital and the B.C. Cancer Agency. Fast forward several months, many many appointments, six weeks of radiation and two surgeries, she is now back home in recovery,” said Campbell.

Campbell is back in the saddle and training yet again, this time to cycle across Canada in a solo, self-funded mission to continue to raise awareness and fundraise for this cause. He is inviting any member of law enforcement or other first responder agencies to join him for any leg of the ride in an effort to get other agencies thinking about their Cops for Cancer programs.

See the details below if you would like to join Campbell in his journey.
