In May 2024, Peel Regional Police will be the host site of the 51st Annual Vehicle Crimes Conference.

With the emerging auto thefts and vehicle crimes that have exploded throughout the last few years in Canada and throughout the Greater Toronto Area, the North East Chapter of the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (NE-IAATI https://www.iaati.org/nerc) & the Canadian Association of Special Investigations Unit – CASIU (www.casiu.ca) will be providing the Northeast IAATI & CASIU 51st Annual Vehicle Crimes Conference in the City of Mississauga. This conference will feature networking and training by industry experts and professionals, to assist with motor vehicle crime investigations and the exportation and identification of exported motor vehicles.

Guest Lecturers will include Kevin Leanpacher of the Atlanta Police Department who is featured on the Homicide series The First 48, as well as CBC Morning Radio Show and CBC Marketplace host David Common who will speak and present on his venture to GHANA to uncover where Canadian stolen vehicles go.
