Edmonton police looking into suspicious death of five week old

Feb. 14, 2023, Edmonton, Alta. – Police say they are investigating the suspicious death of a five-week-old in Edmonton.

The force’s child protection unit began investigating after the baby was taken by ambulance on Feb. 5 to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

Police say the child was immediately admitted into the intensive care unit.

The infant died last Wednesday.

Homicide detectives took over the investigation.

Police say an autopsy was done but the cause of death is pending further tests.
