Police officer and songwriter Dave Richardson passes away at 77

Dave Richardson, a retired police officer on Vancouver Island who wrote the 1972 hit Wildflower for B.C. band Skylark, has passed away at the age of 77. According to the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, Wildflower is one of the most performed songs in the history of Canadian popular music.
