Peel Regional Police officer charged with criminal offences

Jan. 25, 2022, Mississauga, Ont. – After a single motor vehicle collision, an off-duty officer has been charged with impaired related offences.
On Friday, January 21, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Great Lakes Drive, in the City of Brampton.
As a result, Constable John Lontoc, a 12-year employee of Peel Regional Police, was charged with the following offences: Impaired Operation and Impaired Operation – Excess Blood Alcohol.
Constable John Lontoc was suspended with pay as per the provisions of the Police Services Act, and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
Once the criminal court proceedings have been completed, a Police Services Act investigation will follow.
