Peel Regional Police officer arrested for uttering threats

Aug. 18, 2022, Mississauga, Ont. – Following a five-month investigation conducted by Peel Regional Police Professional Standards, a 22-year member has been charged with a criminal offence.

On August 18th, 2022 Detective Constable Joao Moco was arrested and charged with one count of Uttering Threats contrary to the Criminal Code. The officer was off-duty at the time of the incident.

Detective Constable Moco is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on October 3, 2022.

Upon completion of the criminal proceedings, a Police Services Act investigation will commence.
