Officer suffered non life threatening stab wounds in altercation with suspect

Mar. 10, 2022, Surrey, B.C. – A woman is in custody after an altercation resulting in a Surrey Police officer being stabbed.
Surrey police and Surrey RCMP were called to a residence in the 12300 block of 99A Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a woman screaming and throwing things inside.
The suspect attempted to run from police, prompting a brief foot chase.
Authorities say the officer was stabbed during the arrest, and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The officer is expected to be released to continue their recovery.
No one else was injured during the incident.
