Toronto Police hosting community town halls on findings from Race and Identity-Based Data Collection

Oct. 17, 2022, Toronto, Ont. – On June 15, 2022, The Toronto Police Service released the findings from its Race-Based Data Collection (RBDC) Strategy. The findings are based on analysis of data collected in 2020 of officers’ perceptions of an individual’s race in use-of-force and strip searches.

Over the next six months, seven Community Town Halls have been planned throughout Toronto. These Town Halls will provide community members a forum to share their perspectives and experiences, as well as, provide feedback on the 38 action items put forward to address the outcomes of the 2020 Use of Force and Strip Search report. Each Town Hall has an in-person or virtual option.
