Suspect charged after Halifax police seize 3D printed firearm, many 3D firearm parts

Feb. 28, 2023, Halifax, N.S. – A Nova Scotia man is facing several weapons-related charges after border agents and Halifax RCMP searched a home in Meaghers Grant, N.S., and seized a 3D-printed firearm with a suppressor and dozens of 3D firearm parts.
Canada Border Services Agency says its investigation started in the spring of 2022 when its officers in Toronto intercepted two suspicious parcels addressed to a Nova Scotia residence.
The package contained five firearm suppressors – often called silencers – which are illegal in Canada.
On July 19, 2022, border agency investigators arrested Gordon Victor Julien of Meaghers Grant for smuggling, and they executed a search warrant at his home.
That’s when they found the 3D weapon and components, as well as a prohibited handgun and a large amount of cash.
Earlier this month, the RCMP arrested the suspect and charged him with more than a dozen offences, including weapons trafficking, making an automatic firearm and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
He was also charged by the border services agency with smuggling and acquiring illegally imported goods.
