Sept. 11, 2021 – The RCMP say one of their officers is shaken, but not physically injured after being shot at during an attempted traffic stop in Surrey, B.C., Friday evening.

They say the officer tried to pull over a black sedan on 82 Avenue near 128 Street at about 8:55 p.m. But when the officer turned on the cruiser’s emergency lights, the sedan driver reached outside and fired two gunshots at the Mountie.

The officer is said to have followed the sedan for a short distance before ending the pursuit for public safety reasons.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with dashcam footage related to the shooting to contact Surrey RCMP.
