Oct. 18, 2021, Halifax, N.S. – Halifax Regional Police are investigating the weekend theft of an Every Child Matters flag from in front of their downtown headquarters.

Police say in a news release today that the flag was stolen early Saturday.

They say an employee later noticed the flag was missing and that the flagpole had been damaged.

The orange flags are intended to foster awareness of the residential school experience of Indigenous peoples.
