Timmins Police Emergency Response Team complete canine training

June 7, 2023, Timmins, Ont. – The Timmins Police Emergency Response Team (ERT) completed the K-9 aspect of their annual training yesterday with instruction provided by Cst. Dave Wert (OPP Canine) and Cst. Rob Mondor (OPP Canine).

Whether it be a ground search for a missing child or pursuing a wanted person, the TPS ERT officer who accompanies the canine handler must know their place and be familiar with canine procedures and functions.

Chief Foy attended the training session to express his appreciation for the training sessions coordinated by Sgt. Delich and the OPP Canine Section officers.

Each instructor received a TPS Challenge Coin and other swag as a gesture of appreciation.
