Three arrested in firearms investigation in Saskatoon

Sept. 18, 2021 – Three people are facing charges after police responded to an incident involving a firearm.

At approximately 2:00 p.m., September 18, 2021, Police responded to a restaurant in the 100 block of Betts Avenue after it was reported that a firearm had been pointed at someone outside. Upon arrival, police observed a Nissan Maxima leaving the parking lot and found it to have been reported stolen. It fled in the opposite direction before police were able to attempt a traffic stop. Police were able to locate the vehicle on Circle Drive West and Laurier Drive, and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. Three people were arrested, and police seized a loaded sawed-off shotgun and spent ammunition from inside the vehicle.

Two men, ages 28 and 35, and a 26-year-old woman, are all charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle.

The 35-year-old man faces additional weapons-related charges, as well as Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.
