Security • Police • Fire Career Expo a success

April 5, 2021  By Blue Line Staff

The annual Security • Police • Fire Career Expo took place virtually on March 3. It hosted expert speakers and industry experts from across Canada through live and on-demand sessions. It also included a virtual exhibit hall area featuring booth sponsors. For those who missed the event, sessions became available on-demand immediately afterwards.

Over 440 people registered for the event, with more than 260 attending live. The keynote address featured Chris Lewis, a retired OPP officer and current CTV analyst. The event then hosted a “Words of Wisdom” panel discussion with Anthony Paoletta, Inspector with the Toronto Police Service, representing the police sector and a Interview and Resume Clinic, with Monique Rollin, retired Inspector of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. Eight on-demand sessions were also offered. The police on-demand speakers were Const. Dennis Walton of the York Regional Police Service in Ontario, who discussed hiring preparation and best practices, and Const. Kevin Goodmurphy, media relations officer for the West Vancouver Police, who discussed the value of community engagement in police recruitment.

Thank you to all of our speakers for sharing their insights and expertise with potential law enforcement recruits. Blue Line would also like to thank the event’s registration sponsor Wilfrid Laurier University, the keynote sponsor Commissionaires and all of our event exhibitors for their contribution to the event.
