Expanding on its line of ruggedized tablets designed for business, Samsung Electronics Canada announced the Canadian availability of the Galaxy Tab Active Pro. Recently named an Innovation Award Honoree by the CES Event Organization, the new Galaxy Tab Active Pro is built for those working in harsh environments or beyond office walls—including in the field, on the road, or in inclement weather.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro is designed for workers in industries such as oil/field but also in the public services (police/utility). It “ability to withstand excessive pressure, temperatures, vibrations and drops has been tested against military-specification MIL-STD-810G,” the company says, and the product also features IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.

The Tab Active Pro has wet touch mode and also includes an IP68-certified water and dust resistant S Pen. Additionally, the tablet’s glove mode provides greater flexibility by allowing the touchscreen to be used, even while wearing work gloves, Samsung explains.

Other features include a 10.1-inch display—allegedly, the largest yet for the ruggedized business tablet line from Samsung—and a replaceable battery that can power the device for up to 15 hours.

Samsung DeX (desktop experience) is also now available for the first time on Samsung’s flagship ruggedized tablet model.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro is now available in Canada through Samsung Stores, Samsung.com, and Samsung’s IT reseller partner channel.
