Safe injection site in London, Ont., reports 13 overdoses so far this month
LONDON, Ont. — Residents in London, Ont., are being warned about potent forms of fentanyl and heroin linked to 13 overdoses this month at a safe injection site.

The Regional HIV/AIDS Connection, which helps operate the site, says the overdoses occurred between Aug. 1 and Thursday.
In each case. staff were able to reverse the potentially lethal effects using naloxone.
The agency is urging users to ingest their drugs slowly and in tiny doses, avoid mixing substances, to carry a naloxone kit, and not to use alone.
About 2,000 people have used the site more than 7,000 times since it opened its doors on Feb. 12.
To date, no overdose deaths have been reported at the facility.
