The Integrated Security Unit (ISU), which will be the body providing security during the 2018 G7 Summit in Charlevoix, Que. on June 8-9, now has an official Twitter account.

The ISU’s mandate is to provide for the security of all participants, visitors and residents during this large‑scale event. Led by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the ISU is comprised of partners from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ), the Service de police de la Ville de Saguenay (SPVS) and the Canadian Armed Forces.

The Twitter account will “constitute a single point of information for citizens and media on G7-related security measures and policing news,” according to a media release.

“For an event of this scale, it is essential that the police forces forming the ISU speak with one voice,” stated the RCMP. “The creation of this account supports the ISU’s intention to provide timely and regular communications to the public.”
