Police, schools, etc. invited to Peterborough airport 24-hour emergency training exercise

The Loomex Group is holding what it describes as a unique training opportunity from November 18 to 20, 2018, at its headquarters at Peterborough Regional Airport. The 24-hour emergency training exercise, explains Loomex, is ideally suited for personnel working at municipalities, airports, police departments, fire departments, emergency management services, hospitals, social services, universities, school boards and private enterprises.

The Loomex Group runs an emergency training demonstration on its 44-foot Mobile Jet Simulator for crowds at Peterborough Air Legends in early August.

Participants are to arrive on Sunday November 18 for an evening reception, dinner and a 90-minute interactive workshop, called The ComeBACK Formula, featuring Sandra Millers Younger from California. Loomex explains The ComeBack Formula is based on five powerful, common sense practices proven to build resilience and transform disaster into opportunity. Each participant will receive a copy The ComeBACK Formula guidebook.

The 24-hour emergency training exercise then starts on Monday at 8:00 am and ends on Tuesday morning at 8:00 am, followed by a breakfast and debrief session. Loomex’ 44-foot Mobile Jet Simulator will be used during the training exercise, adding a level of realism. Participants will move through the training with a team of peers from scene to scene of one mock emergency to another. This includes working with their peers to establish a Control Group to establish a position of work from pre-engineering and recovery to developing working budgets for logistics and establishing communications protocols.

In addition to a certificate of completion, Loomex explains this 24-hour exercise provides participants with the ability to:

• Work an emergency over an extended period of time,
• Work through an emergency with confidence,
• Understand their individual and group roles,
• Participate in a Unified Command,
• Work with peers from across the industry with different skill sets,
• Learn to work in a team environment under pressure,
• Work in a Command Post environment, and
• Learn to deal with emergencies from response to recovery phase.
