Blue Line was honoured to attend Serving with Pride's Out of the Blue Gala as the official print sponsor on Oct. 13.

Seneca College police foundations students attend the Serving With Pride Out of the Blue Gala.

Serving With Pride’s co-chairs, Jean Turner with the RCMP and Const. Brian Mitchell with York Regional Police, noted the sold-out gala doubled its attendance compared to last year’s event.

 
A number of award winners were annouced at the gala:

• LGBTQ2 Visibility Award to Constables Erin and Erin Toth of Halton Regional Police
• LGBTQ2 Youth Award to Mackzenie Costello
• LGBTQ2 Ally Award to Const. Karlene Krusch with Peel Regional Police.

Serving with Pride also announced a new LGBTQ2 Youth Scholarship Program.

Special shout out to CTV’s Michelle Dubé for emceeing, Felicia McMinn for the music and radio/TV host Deb Pearce for the moving and entertaining keynote address.

Serving With Pride is an “organization dedicated to promoting diversity, integrity, awareness, and non-discrimination of LGBTQ2 personnel and equity of all persons within policing, emergency and criminal justice professions, as well as within the communities we serve, through, education, mentoring, leadership, support and effective professional networking.”
