407 ETR says it is “very proud to be providing the OPP with a new state-of-the-art building.” The building is being provided in addition to the annual operating costs of policing and road/winter maintenance that 407 ETR also pays as part of managing the highway.

The company says it “greatly appreciates the ongoing work OPP has undertaken to maintain safety on the roadway and continue to make safety a true hallmark of 407 ETR’s overall reputation.”

According to 407 ETR, this detachment brings police that respond to incidents on the highway and enforce safe driving closer to the highway, and provides police with the facilities they need to operate safely and effectively.

The relationship between the 407 ETR and the OPP continues to grow, the company states.

Drivers take over 125 million trips a year on the 407 and travelled over 2.7 billion kilometres on the highway last year alone, according to the company.
