Mar. 26, 2024, Toronto, Ont. – Minister of Finance Peter Bethlenfalvy has released the 2024 Budget: Building a Better Ontario.
One highlight of the province’s actions included investing $46 million over three years, including for the purchase of four police helicopters, to improve community safety in the Greater Toronto Area by supporting increased patrols and faster response times to major incidents and serious crimes.
“Peel Regional Police appreciates the provincial government’s commitment to public safety and ensuring police services have the resources they need to support our communities. Air support with significantly assist with our frontline operations, increase public and officer safety, and increase the number of arrests and charges of those responsible,” said Chief Nishan Duraiappah, Peel Regional Police.
