Dedicated Chilliwack RCMP unit to crack down on prolific offenders
Chilliwack RCMP wants to crack down on the prolific offenders who commit a disproportionate number of crimes in the community.
To this end, a four-officer team has been created, which will work in conjunction with other detachment support teams, the city’s crime analyst and partner agencies to target repeat offenders associated to criminal activity.
The so-called Priority Offender Suppression Team (POST) hit the streets this month, modelled after the multi-jurisdictional police operation Project Valley Sweep in the Fraser Valley in the summer of 2016.
