Barrie Police launches bully reporting system
Barrie Police recently unveiled its new confidential bullying reporting system.
“Our goal is to add a tool and provide another avenue for our youth to report cases of bullying,” the service stated in a news release. “This is an exciting endeavour with the hopes that it will empower our youth to come forward without the fear of retaliation.”
Implemented with the collaboration of both the Simcoe County District School Board and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, the “Report a Bully” button on Barrie Police’s external website went live on Oct. 6. Victims, witnesses, or third party complainants of bullying can click on this button and follow the prompts to create a report. Reports submitted will come to the Barrie Police Community Services Unit for review and further action.
