Recipients of the Governor General’s Police Exemplary Service Medal (PESM) are invited to order a special vinyl sticker created just for these award winners.

“Join us in proudly displaying our service ribbon on your personal cars, motorcycles and ATVs,” says Hal Cunningham, a retired Toronto Police Service staff sergeant and PESM recipient who has started the vinyl sticker program.

This sticker program is being offered across Canada to any serving or retired officer that has been awarded this medal. Proceeds will go to a new Ontario-based non-profit, Boots on the Ground, which offers peer support to first responders on the phone and in person.

“Our service ribbon is not generally known to the public and would be a discreet way to advise our police community of your status,” Cunningham says. “All serving and retired police officers in Canada will know that the owner of the vehicle with the service ribbon sticker served with distinction and will be there if any police officer needs their assistance.”
