Correctional Service of Canada posted on social media:

“It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we advise you of the death of one of our employees while in the line of duty. Lesa Zoerb, an employee from Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge (OOHL), was killed in a motor vehicle accident on October 7, while returning from supervising an offender at the hospital. Under any circumstances, the death of a colleague is deeply felt by us all. We will remember the courage and the depth of commitment that is required of our older sisters and brothers, correctional officers and primary workers, as we mourn Lesa’s death. Our most sincere condolences and prayers go out to Lesa’s family, friends and colleagues during this very difficult time.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Zoerb’s two children. Find it here: https://www.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-lesa-zoerb?pc=&rcid=r01-153914207641-441c737cb50a4179
