Insp. Mark Mitchell has become the new chief of Kawartha Lakes Police Service, following the retirement of Chief John Hagarty this summer.

“Insp. Mitchell has all the qualifications to lead our Kawartha Lakes Police Service into the future,” said Mayor Andy Letham. “Chief Hagarty has done a fantastic job and can retire in August knowing the community will be in good hands.” Mitchell began his policing career with Peel Regional Police in 1988 and joined the Lindsay force in 1990.
