Sept. 27, 2021 – About 50 people turned out in Debert to meet investigators from the commission of inquiry into the mass killing that claimed 22 lives in Nova Scotia last year.
The gathering at a local community centre was the first of four so-called open houses to be held this week by the commission, which began its work 11 months ago.
Over the course of the two-hour meeting, people gathered at tables in small groups and in one-on-one conversations with about 20 inquiry investigators.
The commission was to hold another open house later on Sept. 27 in Truro before moving on to the communities of Millbrook on Sept. 28 and Wentworth on Sept. 29.
