Hexagon selected by Anchorage Police Department for next-gen 9-1-1 solution

Apr. 7, 2022, Huntsville, Alaska – Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division has announced the Anchorage Police Department has selected Hexagon’s industry-leading public safety platform to bring next-generation 9-1-1 capabilities to the city’s emergency operations. The new system, comprised of HxGN OnCall Dispatch, HxGN OnCall Records and field mobility solutions, is engineered to enable the department to better manage high call volume, dispatch more efficiently and improve response times through greater management of resources.

Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, has a 9-1-1 coverage area encompassing more than 100 square miles. The Anchorage Police Department Emergency Communications Center handles approximately 400,000 calls annually, serving as the initial public safety answering point for all 9-1-1 calls in the city. The new integrated solution is designed to streamline processes and procedures, enhance emergency response, and equip law enforcement with vital information both in the field and at the office.
