
Faron Whiteye has assumed the helm of the UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service as the new chief. He hails from the Moravian Delaware Nation with ties to Walpole Island First Nation. He has over 23 years in First Nations policing with the Anishinabek Police Service and Walpole Island Police Service, serving six of those years as Detective Staff Sergeant and Professional Standards & Major Criminal Investigations Bureau Commander.
Most recently he has been employed at the Ontario Police College as an instructor with the basic constable training program in firearms. The UCCM Police Commission would also like to say Chi Miigwetch to Yves Forget who has served as interim chief of police for the past several months.
