John E. Reid & Associates, Inc., announces that it will host two training programs in Canada during 2019 on “The Reid P.E.A.C.E Method of Investigative Interviewing.” The first of these 2-day programs will be held on April 16 and 17 in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The second program will be held October 8 and 9 in Calgary, Alberta.

The Reid P.E.A.C.E. Method of Investigative Interviewing merges core Reid tenets of strategic planning, preparation, and rapport building, with direct questioning as the principal means of eliciting facts and evidence from suspects, witnesses, victims, and informants. This process is superimposed over the UK’s College of Policing’s authorized interviewing practices for law enforcement.

The training program’s emphasis upon direct questioning is an outgrowth of the origins of the Reid Technique. Its developers, John E. Reid and Fred E. Inbau, were both attorneys who were well trained in the courtroom skills of direct and cross examination that are embedded within The Reid P.E.A.C.E. Method.
