April 20, 2019 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting in Littleton, Colorado. It was in response to this tragic event that ALERRT was established as a national training program at Texas State University in 2002. ALERRT has since trained more than 130,000 police, fire and EMS officials, and has been named by the FBI as the National Standard in Active Shooter Response Training.

This year, ALERRT will host the 10th annual ALERRT Conference at the Gaylord Rockies Resort Hotel & Convention Center in Aurora, Colo. The conference will be dedicated to the 13 lives lost at Columbine, with topics and themes focusing on bridging the Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, Emergency Management, and Physician responses to active shooter / attack events.
