The Toronto Police Amateur Athletic Association was formed in 1881 to promote fitness and camaraderie among Members of the Toronto Police Service and other First Responders.

Members of the Toronto Police Amateur Athletic Association work in the community in support of the Toronto Police Service community enrichment initiatives. For over 75 years, the Toronto Police Amateur Athletic Association has hosted the annual Playground Games for the youth of the city and also the annual Police Games. Currently, the Games play an important role in bridging relationships between at risk communities and the police through sports.
