Durham Regional Police Service staff sergeant wins IAWP’s Mentoring & Coaching award

Staff Sgt. Stefanie Finateri of Durham Regional Police Service was the recipient of the International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Foundation’s Mentoring & Coaching award for 2019, presented in Anchorage, Alaska, at the association’s 57th training conference.

Between 2007 and 2012, Finateri was a member of the elite Drug Enforcement Unit, being the second female officer to ever work in this unit. Finateri, now in her 17th year as a police officer, is “leading the way in coaching and mentoring female members who want to follow in her undercover officer footsteps.”
