They say the charges came as a result of Operation Northern Spotlight, a partnership with the RCMP and 45 police services across the province.

The OPP says various forces made numerous arrests during an unspecified seven-day period.

They say they were able to remove seven people from exploitative situations, including two under the age of 18.

They say three of the victims were found in the Ottawa area.

Police say the investigation led to 45 charges being laid against 15 people, including trafficking in persons and forcible confinement.
