‘Aggressive investigation’ leads to arrest in Saskatoon provincial courthouse explosion

A 44-year-old man charged in an explosion outside the Saskatoon provincial courthouse appeared Monday in the very building he’s accused of trying to destroy.

Rodney James M. Wilkie, made his first appearance Monday in Saskatoon provincial court, where he was charged with intent to cause an explosion to cause serious bodily harm or death or property damage, recklessly causing damage by explosion, mischief, threats to cause damage and two counts of obstructing justice. The charges stem from an explosion last Wednesday that resulted in minor damage to the entrance of Kilborn Place, which is located next to the provincial court.
